Water for All Partnership Project (2012-2017)
Access to safe and clean drinking water is essential for health, dignity, and sustainable development. Yet, many rural communities in Cameroon
continue to face significant challenges in accessing potable water, exposing families to waterborne diseases and limiting opportunities for
development and well-being.
Recognizing this urgent need, CAMAAY launched the Water for All Partnership Project (2012-2017) to improve access to clean water in underserved communities, particularly in Oku and Batouri. The initiative began with a comprehensive situational analysis of existing water infrastructure, water sources, and the challenges affecting local communities and water management committees. The findings highlighted critical gaps in access, maintenance, and sustainable water management that required immediate attention. Through awareness-raising, community engagement, and partnership-building, CAMAAY mobilized stakeholders to seek practical and long-term solutions to the water crisis. The project aimed not only to increase access to safe drinking water but also to strengthen community ownership and sustainable management of water resources. By addressing one of the most basic human needs, the Water for All Partnership Project contributed to healthier communities, improved livelihoods, and a better future for women, children, and families in rural Cameroon.
